Noite Branca
Braga, September 2018

MicroSonic Spaces is a generative and interactive music system, based on the idea of a virtual ecosystem of autonomous agents that generate sound as they live, move and interact with other agents and with the visitors.

Musically, the interactive installation format is explored as a dynamic meta-compositional system, combining conventional music concepts and sound generation parameters, with the non-linear nature of this format.

MicroSonic Spaces BRG was commissioned by Fundação Bracara Augusta for Noite Branca festival in Braga, Portugal, and presented at Museu dos Biscaínhos between August 31st and September 2nd, 2018.

The project aims to investigate the writing as part of the creative thinking of the dance, in site specific contexts and it was developed around two central axes, namely: on the one hand, analyzing and reflecting on the way how the know of the writing can interfere in the creative processes in dance and on the other hand, experiencing the dificulty of the translation of the act of choreographic creation into another language, allowing to read on the layers of a 'phármakonised' body the duplicity of meaning, the ambiguity and the possibility of generating a body written in itself, or in other words: "(...) . instead of something distinguished from something else, imagine something which distinguishes itself – and yet ... though it were distinguishing itself from that which does not distinguish itself from it"(Deleuze .1968, p. 81) - medicine and poison.
